When you start your computer in Safe Mode, only specific components needed to run the operating system are loaded. Because of this, certain features, like internet access and video playback, are limited or restricted. Some malware files are impossible to remove because they are already running. In Safe Mode, only necessary files are loaded, and malicious files can be removed.

Begin by restarting the computer. Once the progress bar is nearly loaded, start tapping the F8 key on your keyboard. If F8 does not work, try tapping F5 instead. Do this until Windows' Advanced Options menu appears.

If you begin tapping the F8 key too soon, your computer might display the message: "Keyboard Error". It's possible that Setup. When the computer is booting, you will see your computer's hardware being listed, then you can press the F8 key repeatedly until you see the Windows Vista Advanced Boot Options. Select the Safe Mode option using the arrow keys.

Then press the enter key on your keyboard to boot into Vista Safe Mode Logon to your computer and Vista will enter Safe mode. Go to find the Setup. Check on the checkbox labeled Safe boot.
