Nominated for six Academy Awards. In the story, Hans Christian Andersen, a shoemaker, is booted out of his own village by the Town Council at the request of the local schoolmaster, who would rather the children of the village attend school than listen to Hans's fairy tales.

Not wishing Hans to undergo any humiliation, his apprentice Peter convinces him to go to Copenhagen, before Hans can find out what the Town Council has decided. Peter goes with him. In the final scene, we see the now celebrated Hans, surrounded by the children and all the adults including the schoolmaster , having even more success than before telling stories.

The mini games aren't difficult but certainly fun such as guiding soldier Charlie through a re enactment scene from the war, you have Charlie shoo away a crow, the crow drops the key into a haystack, charlie pushes the cow out of the way to search the haystack to find the key that opens a chest containing an axe to chop down the door of a burning house and so forth.

This was cheerful, the storyline adorable as well as the characters and the games were really fun. Wish it wasn't only during the holiday seasons that these type of games were released. After playing the first one with the Nutcracker, I loved it sooooo much when I see new ones I immediately buy them at regular club price of I looooove the classic stories and the developers bringing those treasured and well loved classics to life. In this and the other Collectors editions are a must. They have the works. You also collect puzzle pieces throughout the main game and put them together in the bonus section.

BTW you collect the cats throughout the main game, at the end of the game you will think you are missing a cat, you are not, the last cat is at the end of the bonus games. Good long game too, at perhaps 7 hours in all. The hidden object scenes were superb and very well done. Puzzles were perfectly challenging.. The scenes which I could not say enough about just make me want to teleport through the screen.
